Pendulums have been used since ancient times and are currently used in many cultures. The most common types of pendulums are metal-bodied wooden ones such as those pictured here.

These can be bought at any occult store or online. They’re easy to use, but they do require some practice before you get good results.

The first thing you need to decide is what type of question you want answered with your pendulum. It’s important to keep things simple when asking your questions so that the answers come through clearly.

Here we are going to explore what a pendulum is and how to use a pendulum chart.

What Is A Pendulum Used For?

A pendulum is a tool which has been used for centuries by people all over the world to gain insight into their lives and situations.

A pendulum helps us find out about our past, present and future. If we are looking for information on someone else, then we will ask them if they would like to give us an answer.

We can also use a pendulum to help us make decisions regarding our own life.

A Beginner’s Guide To Using A Pendulum

If you’ve never tried using a pendulum before, there are a few things you should know about them before you start:

  1. You will need a clear space where you won’t be disturbed while you use your pendulum. If you don’t have this space, then try to find somewhere quiet where no one else will disturb you.
  2. Before starting, make sure you are well rested and relaxed.
  3. Make sure you are not wearing anything that may affect the movement of your pendulum. For example, jewellery, watches, rings, etc.
  4. When you hold your pendulum, make sure you are holding it correctly. Hold it between your index finger and thumb and point away from yourself.
  5. Ask your question aloud and wait patiently for the answers to come back. Don’t force the pendulum!

How Does A Pendulum work?

When using a pendulum, we need to ask ourselves a question that we would like an answer to. Then we just wait for the pendulum to swing back and forth. As the pendulum moves, it will show us the answer.

For example, if I am trying to figure out where my relationship is headed, I might ask myself “Will they stay with me?”

When I ask this question, I start swinging the pendulum around, and it starts moving slowly back and forth. After a while, it stops and points towards one side. That means yes! They will stay with me.

If I were to ask myself “Do I want to move?”, the pendulum would stop and point towards the other side. That means no! I don’t want to move.

When To Use A Pendulum Chart

If you are new to using a pendulum, then you could use a pendulum chart to help you understand how to interpret the movements of your pendulum.

You can buy these charts at any occult shop or online. There are two main kinds of pendulum charts:

  1. Traditional Pendulum Charts – These are usually printed on paper and contain a grid of numbers. Each number represents a certain position. The numbers range from 1 to 10. The higher the number, the more positive the outcome.
  2. Modern Pendulum Charts – Instead of using numbers, these charts use symbols instead. The symbols represent different directions and meanings.

The way in which you read the chart depends on what kind of chart you are reading. Some people prefer traditional charts because they are easier to read.

Others prefer modern charts because they are easier for beginners to learn.

How To Read A Pendulum Chart

There are many ways to read a pendulum chart. Here are some examples:

1. Reading A Pendulum Chart With Numbers

This method requires you to look at each number individually. It is important to remember that the higher the number, the better the outcome. So, if you see a 10, then you know that the outcome is very good.

2. Reading A Pendulum Using Symbols

This method uses symbols to represent different directions and meanings when interpreting the results.

For example, if you see a symbol that looks like a circle with a line through it, then you know that there is something blocking your path.

3. Reading A Pendulum With Color

Some people choose to color code their charts based on the outcome. If you get a green color, then you know that everything is going well for you.

If you get a red color, then you know things aren’t going as planned.

4. Reading A Pendulum Based On Your Question

You may not always be able to tell whether the pendulum is pointing towards a positive or negative result by looking at it alone. In those cases, you should ask yourself why you are asking the question.

Is it to find out about someone else? Or is it to find out about yourself? If it’s the former, then you need to ask them. If it’s the latter, then you need to take care of yourself first.

5. Reading A Pendulum Through Meditation

In order to get an accurate reading, you need to focus your mind on the pendulum. By doing so, you will be able to pick up on its vibrations. Once you have done this, you will be able to see where it points to.

Conclusion

Pendulums can be used for a variety of reasons. Depending on your personal needs and interests, you will require a different type of pendulum chart.

Explore the many pendulum charts available and see which one works best for you.

Remember, you must focus on your intention when using a pendulum chart in order to find the answers that you seek. Sometimes it may feel more difficult to get an answer than others.

We hope this guide has helped you understand what a pendulum is and how to use a pendulum chart in your spiritual practice.
